Dr. Lynda Boucugnani-Whitehead
Dr. Lynda Boucugnani-Whitehead fell in love with psychology in college when a psychological assessment class allowed her to grasp the concept of the vast inner-workings of the mind. This newfound passion transformed into her lifelong commitment that she would continue to foster through 40 years in practice. In her private practice, where she became known as a leading neuropsychologist in the Southeast for children and adolescents, everything she did was in depth. She was often the only neuropsychologist in her region, taking on complex cases with hours of consultation, collaboration with the child’s teachers and parents, and deep research that went beyond standard evaluations and reports.
Post-retirement, Dr. Lynda continued to work pro bono with geriatric patients that were struggling with memory care, misdiagnoses, and feelings of isolation or loss of purpose.
Alongside this work, she teaches a course of the brain’s function most notably in the area of memory care to older adults.
Today, Dr. Lynda is a full-time author and advocate, continuing to live out her life’s purpose to help others along the way.
She has one son, David, and two beloved grandchildren—one who is a teacher at the Georgia School for the Deaf, and the other a singer and actress in Boston. When she is not writing, Dr. Lynda enjoys gardening, research, swimming in her pool, and watching British television.
Mission
Dr. Lynda’s commitment has been to help others- it always has been. Whether she was diagnosing learning differences in children, working with geriatric patients to understand how to improve their memory and brain-related physical function, or now, writing what she knows for the benefit of others. She believes everyone deserves to understand their minds and emotions and purpose—no matter what stage of life they are in.
Writing Process
Dr. Lynda’s writing stems from a place of creativity, with her ideas branching off into feelings, life experiences, and meaning in the written word. Once her concept is fully formed, she sits down to make a “brief” of the essential points, with her dog beside her to provide emotional support throughout the entire process. She rarely makes edits, her writing style is intentional and intuitive. Her words flow from her brain to the paper in a clear manner.
